General Facts

Somerset County, with a population of approximately 26,273, is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is the state's most southern county.  The Chesapeake Bay forms its western boundary and Virginia its southern boundary. Somerset County’s eight public schools include one technology & career center, two high schools, an intermediate school, and four elementary schools. The Board of Education is located in Westover, approximately seven miles south of Princess Anne, the county seat.
