Rainbow Stem Challenge 🌈
Ms. Bakewell's 2nd grade class and Mrs. Blevins 4th grade class got together to make rainbows!
Our students loved creating their very own rainbows!!

The Greenwood Elementary GT Program meets once a day and the students participate in some sort of critical thinking challenge. These amazing students are hard workers and go above and beyond what is asked of them in the classroom! Today they designed and constructed airplanes to see which groups airplane would fly the farthest. The GT students competed today to see which team would represent our school in the elementary competition against Woodson Elementary and Deal Island elementary that will be on March 22nd.
Please congrats our winners Caidyn and Keenan!!

Our Greenwood Eagles tried to trap a leprechaun! They may have been a little dissatisfied that those sneaky leprechauns got away, but they were all smiles celebrating with one another! Creativity and imagination are important at Greenwood Elementary!

Big congrats to our staff member of the week Mrs. Guy! Thank you for all you do!! 🌟

Greenwood Elementary will not have after school tutoring on Tuesday, March 14th

Good afternoon Greenwood families! Let's take a look at the week ahead at GES! There is no after-school tutoring on Tomorrow 3/14 because most of our tutors are participating in a PD after school. Wednesday is School Spirit Day so students can wear their Greenwood shirts with pride. If your child still needs one, they are only $10 and for sale each morning at our school store. We will have Snack Cart on Thursday this week because school is closed for students on Friday. Thank you all and enjoy the rest of your week!
Officer Adams is Greenwood Elementary's SRO. The students got to ask some questions about being an SRO officer. The students reported that not only is she a great SRO but also an amazing guest to the classroom.
Way to go Officer Adams. The staff and students truly enjoy having you and greatly appreciate your positive attitude.

Reminder: Students do not report on Friday March 17, 2023 to accommodate staff professional development.

Big congrats to our staff member of the week Mrs. Shores! Thank you for all you do!! 🌟

Good evening Greenwood families! Let's take a look at the quieter week ahead at GES! We have School Spirit Day on Wednesday, so students can rock their GES shirts with pride. On Friday we will have Snack Cart. See, it's a quieter week around GES for sure! Thank you all and enjoy your night!
Good afternoon, Princess Anne and Greenwood Elementary Families. We are reaching out to inform you of a community event occurring nearby that has drawn police presence. Due to proximity, both schools have been placed on lockdown by law enforcement. However, local law enforcement has deemed it safe to dismiss at the normal time.
There is no threat on campus of either school, and they are locked down as a precaution at this time. There will be no delay with dismissal. Thank you.

📚Read Across America Week Day 2
"So what we’re gonna do now is take it back….wayyyyy back!”
•Decades Day at GES•

Our Black History Wax Museum came to life today in third grade! After doing biographical research, students dressed up as their favorite person from history and presented an autobiography to all those who came through the “museum”.
So many smiles from parents and grandparents as our students shared their knowledge about astronauts, scientists, athletes, and the list goes on… So proud of these amazing students!
